Jeszcze raz dziękujemy !
This little dog is very unlucky. She had to undergo three surgeries in a very short amount of time. Buffy suffers from the dislocation of patella and gonarthrosis in both knees as well as distal femoral rotation. Doctor Novak, who runs her treatment, had to cut the bone in her right paw and straighten it again. In the left paw it was enough to just deepen the groove, that the kneecap is operating in. Buffy was recovering for quite some time after the surgery.
She walked very cautiously and was afraid to move. She had undergone rehabilitation to fix that issue, so she could walk normally. Rehabilitation helped a lot, although she was still very careful with her steps, she became more alive, more willing to play and she started to play with other dogs. Doctor Novak from the clinic in Czech Republic, decided that she can undergo a second surgery (for the left leg). The right one was supposed to be corrected only slightly. We were all very happy to see her getting better. The surgery took place on October 8th and day by day Buffy was getting more confident in walking.
Buffy was under strict observation by her loving owners 24 hours per day, but unfortunately it wasn’t enough to prevent the horrible accident. On Sunday, around noon, Buffy was trying to move to her sleeping place, wanting to lie down, but she lost her balance and fell. The sound she made tore her owner’s heart. Julia, her owner, immediately helped her up, but Buffy was visibly in great pain. Every move was painful and you could see something very serious happened with one of her legs. Miss Julia immediately called the clinic. After doctor’s orders she took Buffy immediately to the clinic. It was confirmed by the X-ray that the leg was broken.
Buffy stayed in the clinic in Czech Republic. On Monday Doctor Novak checked on her and decided to fold the bones using very expensive plate. The leg was already very week, so having the best interest of the dog in mind, he made such a decision. The special plate had to be imported from other place, so the surgery took place on Tuesday. The cost of the surgery only includes used materials, as Doctor Novak generously didn’t charge anything for his work. Now Buffy is slowly recovering, but she needs a lot of rest and rehabilitation.
The cost of travelling from Poland to the clinic in Czech Republic is around 150 PLN one way. In this month only, the owner has already spent around 1000 PLN just for travelling expenses. Miss Julia only wants happy life without pain for her dog. She wants her to run and play with other dogs. Looking at the suffering of Buffy breaks her heart. She does whatever she can, to help her beloved Buffy.
So far the first two surgeries, treatment and rehabilitation have cost nearly 8000 PLN. Thanks to the previous money donations part of the cost was successfully paid. The invoice for the surgery of the broken leg was over 2000 PLN. The next visit and rehabilitation cost around 600 PLN per month.
Due to the huge costs, your help is very much needed. Miss Julia wants the best for her dog Buffy but simply she lacks the money. That’s why she is asking for your help and organizing this donation collection. Every amount counts for us and we will be very grateful for your support.
